JOB TITLE Assistant Programmer/IT Operator
REPORTS TO VP of R&D

SUMMARY
Cutting edge digital print & marketing company is expanding development team. Maintain and develop printing systems using PHP, mySQL, HTML, Javascript, XML, Flash and Actionscript. Great work environment. Will train person with demonstrated programming potential.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
FT/PT depending upon preference of the ideal candidate. Competitive pay with medical/dental program. Starts at $18/hr+DOE. Pay for this position depends upon experience and capabilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains and repairs order and graphic processing systems.
  • Develops and codes new features as needs and experience dictate.
  • Contributes to a team programming environment.
  • Creates and maintains web interfaces and database resources.
  • Assists programming team in solution design, best practices, standards and code review.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with user interface design is a plus for this position.
  • Hands-on experience in web development using a CGI capable language, such as PHP, Perl, ASP, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates understanding of CGI Form Processing.
  • Demonstrates competence of structured programming in ANSI C, Perl or PHP.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of structured website design and administration.
  • Familiarity with any of the following a plus, but not required: Java, XML, Flash, ActionScript, Postscript, Raster versus Vector imaging.
  • mySQL database management a plus.
  • Technical writing experience a plus, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work with users to iprove function and usability of projects.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proficient with MS Windows based computer systems.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, including a briefcase and/or sales materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works in a combined warehouse/office setting.
